Using the editor
AI flow builder
Describe a flow or a change in plain words and let the assistant draw it.
The switch at the top of the Steps panel toggles between Steps and AI builder. Describe what you want:
Turn on the porch light at sunset on weekdays and off at 23:00. Send me a push if the front door is still unlocked at 23:05.
The assistant returns a graph; the editor lays it out and adds the steps one by one, then draws the connections. You can keep talking to change it ("make it every day", "add a 5-minute wait"), and the conversation is kept per flow while it is open.
What to know:
- The result is a draft on your canvas, validated with the same rules as hand-built flows. Nothing runs until you publish.
- The assistant only uses devices, places and people that exist in the location, and only the step types in the catalog. States it writes as labels (Open, Armed Away) are stored as the device's raw tokens.
- If it needs to re-arrange a canvas you had positioned by hand it says why (for example, a step was inserted between existing ones).
- Nothing about the conversation is stored on the hub.
Review the steps before publishing, especially device picks and times, exactly as you would review a colleague's work.
